One person has died after being shot Monday morning in northwest Charlotte.

According to a statement by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, shortly before 12:10 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon near the 1100 block of Gold Rush Boulevard. 

When officers arrived, they located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound outside of the apartment building.  The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic. 

As of Monday morning, the police had announced no arrest.
